Dayananda Vidyalaya Mat. Hr. Sec. School came into being on July 05, 2012 with the objective of providing quality education and shape-up the children as responsible citizens of tomorrow so as to contribute to the well-being of self, family and the Nation.
The name of the school ‘Dayananda’ stands for Pujya Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswathi’, who was instrumental in establishing the institution. Swamiji had extended financial support and all the help needed to M/s Manam Malarattum Trust towards making the school endeavour a reality.
The trustees of M/s Manam Malarattum Trust, who are a group of youngsters, are actively involved in cultural development and community services in and around Yelagiri and Javvadhu hills region with the support of Pujya Sri Dayananda Saraswathi.
The trust has helped over 12000 students to accomplish their academic dreams as on date. The ‘Sandhya Gurukulam’ classes conducted by the trust for the students from Govt. schools in villages made a significant positive difference to the communities in the region.
The school M/s Dayananda Vidyalaya, that began modestly just with 9 teachers, 3 assistants and 172 students emerged as one of the most credible academic institutions with exceptional track record.
The management and the teachers are committed to the cause of overall development of students and adopt innovative approaches in pursuit of excellence.

Dear Friend,
It is with immense pride that I welcome you to Dayananda Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
My journey with Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati dates back to more than three decades. I had read about Pujya Swamiji in a magazine and felt a strong urge to meet him in person. I went to the Arshya Vidya Gurukulam in Anaikatti, where he was staying and spent some time talking to him. His compassion and wisdom won me over from the first time I met him, and I dedicated myself to His service.
When I asked him how I could serve him, he suggested that I bring together like-minded people and start a school to help children from the nearby villages and tribal settlements. This led to the founding of the Manam Malarattum Trust, with the name drawn from a famous book authored by Pujya Swamiji.
Even before the establishment of Dayananda Vidyalaya, the trust was actively engaged in cultural development and community service initiatives throughout the Yelagiri and Javvadhu hills region, guided by the wisdom and support of Pujya Swamiji. Notably, the ‘Sandhya Gurukulam’ classes for students in government schools within the surrounding villages have made a significant positive difference, strengthening the educational fabric of the region.
The name of our school pays homage to Pujya Swamiji, whose support was instrumental in bringing this endeavor to fruition. His belief in the power of education to transform lives continues to inspire our work.
Our founding vision for Dayananda Vidyalaya was clear: To provide quality education that not only fosters academic excellence but also molds our children into responsible citizens, individuals who will contribute meaningfully to their families, community and the nation as a whole. To date, we have facilitated the academic dreams of over 12,000 students.
Dayananda Vidyalaya itself began in a modest manner, with a small team of 9 teachers, 3 assistants, and 172 students. Through dedication and unwavering commitment to our mission, we have grown into a credible academic institution with over 1,000 children enrolling in our school year on year.
Today, our co-educational school, recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, has classes from Lower Kindergarten to Standard XII, and provides English medium education of distinct quality under the matriculation stream.
Our management and dedicated team of teachers remain steadfast in their commitment to the holistic development of each student. We embrace innovative teaching methodologies in our continuous pursuit of excellence, ensuring that our students are not only academically proficient but also well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Our Approach
At Manam Malarattum Trust (our parent organisation), our approach to education and holistic development is structured around two primary initiatives: our main school, Dayananda Vidyalaya Mat. Hr. Sec. School, and our network of supplementary education centers known as Sandya Gurukulam. These initiatives work in tandem to provide comprehensive and inclusive education to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the Javvadu and Elagiri hills.
Dayananda Vidyalaya Mat. Hr. Sec. School is the heart of our educational model. Established with the vision to offer quality education to children in one of Tamil Nadu’s most backward regions, our school serves around 1000 students. As an English medium school, we emphasize a strong foundation in core subjects, while also offering Tamil as a second language and Sanskrit and Hindi as third languages. Our curriculum is designed to foster academic excellence, critical thinking, and moral values.
The school provides a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and personally. We believe in the importance of a holistic education that goes beyond textbooks. Our students engage in various extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and community service, which help develop their talents and leadership skills. We also offer special support to 300 students through scholarships funded by CSR initiatives and ex-students. These scholarships ensure that children from single-parent households and economically weak families can access education without financial constraints, empowering them to pursue their dreams and break the cycle of poverty.
